2ND All Goa Annual Mankurad Mango Festival: Not to be missed if you’re a mango-lover! John Desa of TransformGoa is hosting this mango festival for mango growers, vendors, consumers with mango drinks and a variety of mango produce to take pleasure in and purchase. Highlights include mango competition with cash prizes as also lucky entrants. Transform Goa seeks to promote Goa’s mankurad mangoes to the rest of the world and John Desa is a Cortalim born and bred Goan who divides his life between Goa and Doha (Qatar) and is of the firm view that Goa’s mankurad is best, “I should know because I eat mangoes from the world over when in Qatar and there is no better mango than mankurad from Goa!” Here’s your chance to buy mankurad mangoes from tree owners at below market prices. Zaagor Trail-Veling: Zaagor means keeping vigil and the village community of village Veling near Ponda keep vigil for various guardian spirits and deities on this night. Performances begin at night and end at dawn. Soul Travelling is exploring yet another unique folk festival in Veling. Catch up with stories and experiences of another world! Venue: Veling. EXHIBITIONS
Digital Heritage Play Lab: Explore emergent media experiences and platforms at this exhibition exploring Goan heritage with a gallery of Heritage Playthings featuring augmented reality, virtual reality, 360 film, gamification, app design and trans-media storytelling. The exhibition aims to bridge the gap between Goan heritage and today’s modern audiences. Highlights include interactive storytelling through Smartphone App – an idea courtesy writer Vivek Menezes. Discover Panaji through an entertaining narrative of nine of his favorite locations. The exhibition concludes with a talk on Digital Heritage by Avinash Kumar, co-founder of Quicksand Design Studio on May 11 at 7pm. Venue: Museum of Goa, Pilerne Industrial Estate, Pilerne. MUSIC
Hindustani Classical Vocal Music Training: The Kala Academy invites applications from Goans interested in training in Hindustani Classical vocal music in the tradition followed by Guru Shishya Paramapara at Dr Gangubai Hangal Gurukul Trust, Unkal, Hubli-Dharwad, from the academic year 2019 onwards. Two Goan students will be selected through audition. Eligibility criteria is applicants must have basic knowledge of Hindustani music and should be Indian citizens. Minimum educational qualification is class 10 pass and age limit is 15-35 years, applicants must be unmarried. The training is for a minimum of two to four years. Free accommodation, meals and two sets of uniform for students admitted through interview and audition. Grand Beach Festival: Youth of Majorda Utorda Calata in association with village Panchayat of Majorda Utorda Calata have organized this grand beach festival featuring beach football, cultural events, live bands, games for kids, food stalls, etc. Free for all. Venue: Utorda beach, south Goa. Date: Ongoing till May 12. Time: 4pm to 10pm.

Dempo Kids Summer Camp: A camp for children from four to 12 years of age, fun-filled activities include dancing, Portuguese games, art and craft, speech and drama, fitness exercises. All participating children will present what they’ve learned on stage. Venue: Dempo Vision, 3rd floor, La Campala Colony, Miramar, Panaji. Date: Ongoing till May 29. Time: 9.30am to 12.30pm.
