USEFUL CITIZENS BASIC LAW COURSE

Goa Foundation and Swades have come together with a useful basic law course for anyone desiring to learn more about laws and the jurisprudence system. This is an updated version of the PIL course offered ten years ago and is being revived due to several requests. The course is designed to make it easy to understand structures, systems, procedures, laws and key judgements, basically help participants in getting justice especially on environmental issues. A course for social activists, environmentalists, NGO members, social groups as also members of the general public desiring to take up environmental issues at their village level. There will be 18 lectures followed by Q & A session, faculty includes lawyers, ex-judges and other experts. Venue: Jesuit House, Opp Tato’s, near Immaculate Conception Church), Panaji. EXHIBITIONS
Arribada: Say hello to the turtles of the world! To celebrate its golden jubilee World Wildlife Fund-India is celebrating marine turtles with an exhibition curated by Goa-based wildlife lover Aradhana Seth. This is a painstakingly put together travelling exhibition comprising of turtle artwork and other fascinating memorabilia from the private collections of Dr Sejal SWorah, Kartik Shajker and also Aradhana Seth. A fund of informative leaflets accompany the exhibition to enlighten, educate and amuse us about turtles and the role they play in our life, also how they’re an endangered species struggling to stay alive on earth where oceans and water bodies are increasingly dying because of the mega pollution of human civilization! Make time for this exhibition if you’re nature’s child and even if you are not. Take your children, take your parents and grandparents. Konknni Journalism Day: The Dalgado Konkani is celebrating Konknni journalism day to commemorate the day Eduardo Jose Bruno de Souza started the first Konknni weekly Udentichem Sallok’ in roman script. `Uma Portuguesinha-E-Tres Goeses Novinhos’ (A Portuguese and Three Young Goans): An exhibition of paintings by artists Sagar Naik Mule, Aadhi Vishal, Ana Maria Pintora and Sarah Sousa K. ‘Smashanatali Bhashna’ for release
The publication ceremony of the Konkani book ‘Smashanatali Bhashna’, an anthology of humorous essays written by renowned author Datta Damodar Naik, will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 5.30 pm at the Conference Hall of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The book will be released by industrialist Auduth Timblo. Senior journalist, Sandesh Prabhudessai will speak on the literary aspects of the book and Dr Ajay Vaidya will do abhivachan on one of the essays in the book. The book is published by Bimb Prakashan. The promoter of Bimb Prakashan, Dilip Borkar, appeals all Konkani lovers to attend the function.
