AWARDS OF 10th CHILDREN’S TIATR COMPETITION PRESENTED

Fausto V. Da Costa, Journalist, editor of Gulab and Tiatr researcher in presence of Member Secretary, Tiatr Academy of Goa, Cezar D’Mello presented the awards to the winners of 10th Children’s Tiatr Competition organized by Tiatr Academy of Goa in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan, Margao today.
‘Kanvllean Kelem Kanv Kanv’ written and directed by Marcos Gonsalves won the 1st place. Other prizes were also distributed to the winners. Judges of the competition Shri Ratnakar Govekar, Fr Milton Rodrigues and Crista Fernandes were felicitated on the occasion.
While addressing the audience, Fausto V. Da Costa, appreciating the performance of children said that they have a bright future in the field of tiatr. He congratulated the winners and urged those who have not won any awards not to be discouraged. He said you might have not won awards today but you have won the hearts of the crowd, this is your stepping stone to success. At this tender age you have done the best. He also praised the work of Tiatr Academy of Goa to encourage local art Tiatr.
The highlights of the awards presentation ceremony was presentation of a Konkani Musical Show.

CALLING WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

THE Women’s Wing of the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry has inaugurated a Women’s Facilitation Council, a help desk to guide women seeking to be entrepreneurs and are in need of business related information or assistance. The council comprises of a experienced women professionals like Deepali Naik (director, Women & Child Development), Swatee Rane (CA/CS), Priyanka Kamat (lawyer), Inseyah Ali (community manager, Forum for Innovation Incubation Research & Entrepreneurship) and Pallavi Salgaocar (chairperson, GCCI), also other GCCI members who can guide women desirous of starting a business venture. The next council meeting is on Feb 13 from 3.30pm to 5.30 pm and the GCCI convention Hall. Women may put in their queries at the meeting, it’s a free help desk with no charges. Officials from EDC and DITC will be present to update on various schemes available to women and self-help groups. No registration fees but prior registration is necessary.
