Good news! The Goa government has allotted the entire ground floor of the main building of the old campus of Goa Institute of Management at Ribander, admeasuring 1,600 sq mts, along with residential accommodation of 2,524 sq mts, for Ayush centers to be set up by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Centers of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy will be functional here soon.
According to AYUSH Minister of State Shripad Yesso Naik the premises will go a long way in taking care of the health needs of Goans. In the meantime the construction of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy at Dhargal in Pernem taluka is in progress. The total cost of the project is Rs301 crore (first phase); the 250 beds institute will be managed by trained and qualified staff and cater to over 500 students doing UG, PG and PhD degrees courses. The MOU has already been signed between Ministry of AYUSH and government of Goa with 50% of the seats to be reserved for locals in graduation/post graduation/PhD. All group `C’ and `D’ employees will be employed by the recruitment of persons from Goa. A lot more is also on the cards to meet the healthcare needs of the people of Goa.
