The chairman of the Delta Casino groups have announced that both its onshore and offshore casinos will move to Pernem Taluka where the company has bought 100 acres of land to create an entertainment zone. However the shifting is not going to happen any time soon but may take two to three years. We presume that shifting of the casinos will coincide with the opening of the Mopa Airport.

The propose entertainment zone will include not only the offshore casinos but will also add hotels convention centers, multiplex cinemas, supermarkets, water park and other facilities. The investment promotion board has accepted the proposal which is expected to cost Rs 1500 crores. The off shore casinos will remain the Mandovi for three year contrary to the promise of the Panjim MLA Babush Monserrate that he will move them withing six months of becoming the MLA.

Meanwhile the Casino Pride has changed his name to Majestic Pride Casino after the hotel Majestic in Porvorim which is also owned by the same casino owner. The Newly named Majestic Pride Casino has also put up a jetty at the Captain of Port called the Majestic Pride Jetty.
