The violence that broke out in the factory of one of the Apple phone contractors Taiwan’s Wistron was not instigated by any outside union. The top bosses at apple have sacked the vice president incharge of Asia for mismanagement by the contractor.

Apple sources say that the contractor was paying the labor only Rs 8000 though he was claiming Rs 22,000 per employee from apple. Moreover the employees were forced to work on 12 hour shift without any overtime. This is what angered the workers and led them to vandalized.

Taiwan which remains independent of main land of China is among the largest manufacture of electronic good. It acts as a contractor for many IT giants who are attracted by the extremely low wages in Taiwan.
