Children’s Rights in Goa (CRG) has completed 15 years in advancing child rights in Goa

Children’s Rights in Goa (CRG) completes 15 years in Goa. This day was observed on February 10, 2021 on a virtual platform. Around 156 high school female students under Balika Manch, 22 higher secondary students as Gender Campions along with their 33 teachers participated, in this prize distribution event. “We believe in empowering and sensitizing children to advocate for their rights,” said Snehal Salgaokar, Director of CRG. The prize distribution was according to the numerous activities initiated by CRG. Ms Deepali Naik (Director of Women & Child Development, Goa) was the chief guest for the occasion and she praised CRGs efforts in sensitizing the younger generation about gender equality. Prizes were awarded to Diti Gawde (Government High School, Pissurlem—1st place and Bhargavi Bhat (Keerti Vidyalaya H. Sc. Siolim –2nd place) in Cooking Competition and Disha Gawas, Kamleshwar HS Petechawadan, Korgao (1st place) and Avni Mandrekar, Ramakant D Khalap, Mandrem (2nd place) for poster competition on the theme of right to survival under Balika Manch. Awards also we went to Akshata Avlakki, P.E.S H.S.Sc. Ponda (1st place) and Chaitanya C Naik, Balaram H.S.Sc. Poingunim (2nd place) for their one-minute talk on COVID-19, Child Rights Crises. Awards also go to Caren Pereira, Fr. Agnel H.S.Sc. Pillar (1st place) and Jane S Fernandes, St. Alex H.S.Sc. Curtorim (2nd place) for poster competition with theme “Liberty in Gender Equality.”
