Luizinho Faleiro is expected to get a Rajya Sabha seat on the Trinamol Congress quota with an assurance that he will be elected. The Trinamol Congress has the numbers to win a Rajya Sabha seat for Luizinho Faleiro. To avoid a direct conflict with the Congress, his son, Rabindranath Faleiro has also been inducted into the Trinamol and will probably be given an assembly seat. The Assembly seat is likely to be Navelim which Faleiro had represented seven time before losing to Churchill Alemao in the 2012 election. Luizinho did not contest the next election but came back to the Goa assembly in 2017 defeating Avertano Furtado, BJP candidate. Avertano has now joined the Congress and will be fighting for the Navelim seats with Luizinho’s son Rabindranath.
Among the most welcome of the other possible candidate is the famous Konkani writer and activists N Shivdas. Shivdas has been fighting for the entry of lower caste and all non-Brahmans in to the sanctum sectorum of the main temples in Goa like Mangueshi and Shantadurga, Besides the secretaries of the GPCC the only outside candidate is the president of the South Goa Advocate association Antonia Clovis D’costa.
