The 15th all Goa “Fire Safety” poster competition was organised on April 3, 2022 on the theme “Learn Fire Safety, Increase Productivity.”

As part of the celebrations for the National Fire Services Day which to be held on April 14, 2022 a poster competition for school students was organised by the Fire Service Stations from all across Goa on Sunday, April 3, 2022. The event in Panaji was held at Don Bosco Oratory from 10am to 12pm.
The competition was organised for two different age categories. Group 1 consisted students from the age group of 7-10 years and group 2 was from 11-14 years. The topics for the two different age groups was “School Fire Safety” and “Fire Safety Planning,” respectively. Drawing paper was provided while students were expected to carry their own colouring material and school ID cards.
The competition was held across 16 different places in Goa with an overall turnout of 2,155 students, of which 916 belonged to group 1 and 12,239 belonged to group 2. The winning students will be felicitated at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on National Fire Services Day to be held at the Fire Headquarters Ground at St Inez.
Director Nitin Raiker has emphasised on the importance of creating awareness of fire safety in schools. Every school must take necessary precautions in order to prevent anything untoward from happening in the case of an emergency, like a fire. Every floor must have a fire extinguisher, fire alarm, and other fire safety equipment necessary that can be used to contain a fire outbreak before it spreads. A competition like this can help create awareness and educate young students across Goa.
