GOA FAVORITE FOR FIRE FIGHTING TRAINING
47th EXTERNAL SUB-OFFICERS COURSE: The Goa State Fire Force Training Centre is the Regional Training Centre for National Fire Service College, Nagpur (Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India). The department facilitated training for the 47th External Sub-Officers Course (NFSC) wherein 28 trainees from Gujarat & Jammu and Kashmir were trained, recently. During such training courses trainees get theoretical and practical training on various topics of fire prevention and protection measures. This includes fixed fire fighting installation, building construction, means of escape, air craft rescue, basic physics and chemistry, special services, electricity, small and special gears, water tender, fire service administration, how to use portable fire extinguishers, hydraulics, hydrant and fittings, practical firemanship, watchroom procedure and mobilising, ropes and lines, salvage, water relay, fire service house, hose fittings, pump and pump operation, breathing apparatus set, ladder, rural fire, first aid and ambulance aid, resuscitation and ship fire and more. At the valedictory function Nitin V Raiker (director, Fire & Emergency Services) congratulated the trainee sub-officers for successfully completing the course. Present on the occasion were Rajendra Haldankar (divisional officer), Ajit Kamat (asst divisional officer), station fire officers, sub-officers and trainers of the Goa State Fire Force Trainign Centre. Station fire officer (training section) Ravi Naik compered the valedictory function held on July 1, 2022.

TENANT VERIFICATION PLEASE!
THE South Goa District Magistrate has ordered owners/management of all hotels, lodging and boarding, private guest houses, paying guest accommodation, temporarily residential accommodation including that of religious bodies, to prohibit any visitors/guest to check-in without providing any photo identity proof such as Elections Card, Driving License, Smart Card, Employment Card, Aadhar Card or any other Identity roof duly issued by Government, a self- attested copy of same may be retained for records.
The order further states no landlords/tenants/owner/person of any house/property falling under the territorial jurisdiction of South Goa District, Goa shall let/sublet/rent out any accommodation to any person unless and until he/she has furnished the particulars of the tenants to the Police In-Charge of the concerned area. The In-Charge of such accommodation shall provide such facilities for inspection of the record of the Police authorities or any other authority authorised by the undersigned if so desired by them.
ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR START-UPS
THE government has constituted an Information Technology Advisory Council for promotion of start-ups and IT industries in Goa with Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant as its chairperson and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte as co-chairperson. The IT Advisory Council will advise the state on measures needed to build a strong start-up and IT ecosystem to help drive sustainable economic growth and generate large scale employment opportunities.
