All kinds of attractions ranging from fresh fruit of the Konkan coast states…the prize-winning exhibits lined up beneath cotton white tents and a line-up stalls selling mangoes, jackfruit, snacks, dehydrated superfoods and much else. There was Shashikant Shantaram Sanghi retailing solar-dried “munakka” or black raisins form Sangli in Maharashtra (these raisins are considered cooling superfood); there was Vani from Ddhyana Wellness offering visitors a taste of health refreshers of tulsi and lemon grass and even bitter gourd! Elsewhere, you have Maria D’Mello with a sunshine-filled pineapple drink; Seema Pednekar with her excellent chaat mix; at Swayam Naturals there was superlatively good bael and jackfruit ice-cream; sporting Anthony Lobo posing amongst his nursery plants for sale…also Nestor Rangel’s Farm da Goa the fingerling herbs were a big hit. Afterwards make a beeline to the other end of the Francisco Luis Gomes Garden to take a break, where there’s a red-tiled well reminding one of Alice in Wonderland or some such thing!
