To mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi 73rd birthday coming up on September 17 he is being gifted with a rakta chandan (red sandalwood) tree at the new project of Governor of Goa PS Shreedharan Pillai at the Raj Bhavan gardens! This is project Rakta Chandan Udyan (Red Sandalwood Garden). It was inaugurated by the governor in the presence of First Lady of Goa  K Rita Pillai on September 15, 2023. A WONDERFUL HEART!

IN the death of Maria Camila Peregrino da Costa Ferreira Alvares, we have lost a very gracious and multi-talented lady who was very caring and ever so humble. Always very refined in her words, acts and deeds. Condolences to her sons, my friend Dr Jose Filipe Alvares, our lawyer colleague Adv Carlos Alvares and daughter Maria Eugenia and their families.

The departed soul was a very close friend and classmate of my mother while they both studied and graduated from Bombay’s Sophia College. She must have been delighted to see her children and family excel in their careers, particularly recently her son, Carlos, evolve as a formidable MLA  representing the Aldona Assembly Constituency with his eyes wide open to the ground reality and ears always to the ground.

May the soul of this wonderful, accomplished lady rest in eternal peace.

REDUCE STRESS ON STUDENTS

IT is good to read that the
National Council of Educational Research has issued guidelines to schools to
better safeguard students mental health. Schools must help their
students discover their hidden talents by conducting regular competitions and
organising training programs and projects that will reduce mental stress
on students.  There is also a need for the schools to look into helping
the weak students who need educational aid. This will reduce mental stress
of students and improve them in their education.

MR CM, PLEASE HELP ALL!

GOA Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar has rightly advised Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to first talk about the rising crimes in Goa and then accuse the Congress for insulting Sanatan Dharma in India! It may be noted that Goa’s CM while addressing a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh accused the Congress of  insulting Sanatan Dharma by not condemning the recent controversial statement of its own key I.N.D.I.A. block, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son and state minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.

How much does the BJP condemn the statements of its own leaders when they  insult other religions — to play dirty communal hate politics in India?

Most BJP leaders are known for raising not issues of poverty, unemployment, inflation, health, women empowerment, etc, but such silly issues of religion selectively to garner  votes of the Hindu majority community! Otherwise, why don’t we ever see BJP leaders issuing their own statements when they see our Christian churches, priests, nuns being attacked on some baseless allegations of religious conversions, dalits being humiliated, paraded naked and not allowed entry in some of the Hindu temples by high-caste  “sanskari’ people?  Why don’t we see them opening their mouths when innocent Muslims are  attacked/lynched for transporting cows/bulls/beef and on issues of love jihad in different parts of our country?

Mr CM first learn to condemn the anti-minority hate spreading speeches of some of some your own top party leaders and then accuse the Congress for insulting Sanatan Dharma!
