ARE GOANS REALLY LIBERATED?

IOUR politicians were giving their own big speeches on the occasion of Liberation Day on December 19 from different platforms! How many benefits the government has given Goans vis-à-vis employment, development in the last 62 years in Goa.
The only people who have/are still enjoying the real benefits of liberation are politicians, non-Goan as in outsiders/land grabbers, builders lobby, casino owners, drug dealers, those running liquor outlets/prostitution centers and the like. Aam aadmi Goans are suffering. Why are Goans from the minority community) still running in search of jobs in the Middle East, Europe, USA, New Zealand, etc. Most of them just want to fill their empty stomach and live in peace.
Respective politicians have brought in different projects, constructed many four-lane roads, fancy bridges and flyovers since liberation. Have they done this for the benefit of Goans or all the hordes of outsiders seeking greener pastures in Goa and willing to become political vote banks?
If Goans really want to be liberated stop our elected politicians from auctioning this state to neighbouring states for the sake of staying in power forever! Real Goans start a revolution to liberate Goa from drugs, prostitution, dance bars, casinos, easy availability of alcohol and other immoral activities which the government supports in the name of revenue for so called development of Goa.
Better sense must prevail come the new year.

REAL INDIAN STAND UP!
On January 26 we celebrated India’s Republic Day. India is a country blessed with multiple religions, castes and creed and with different customs, traditions, languages and there is a kinship between all Indians from all states surely.
Alas, the India we see today is filled with demons destroying freedom, looting one another of the country and are robbing the Indians, there is corruption, terrorism, unemployment, underemployment. And child labor, illiteracy, political interference and fanaticism. The demons are devouring the country and taking away working people’s little bit of peace of mind.
Religious chauvinism is dividing us anew and we dare to call ourselves Indians. When we prefer to call ourselves Goans or Gujaratis or Maharashtrians or Bengalis or Biharis, etc. Thus, we ourselves cater to the government’s divide and rule policy inherited from the British. This is very clearly seen at the time of elections, when we vote not for the right party, but the party that has the candidate of our religion and caste!
Never has there been a time as now for every Indian to rise and protest. We must understand the need to be united, loyal, pledge to be a fraternity in togetherness in diversity. Together we can build a happy country and close the gaps exploited by political ambitions, hatred, so called patriotism.
Will real Indians stand up and take a pledge for the diversity and unity of this country which has suffered countless scars in history? Real Indians stand up and count for something for the good of this country! Jai Hind!

FOCUS ON PARKS AND GARDENS!
FOR the sake of the health and well-being of the people of Goa the authorities must ensure that our parks and public gardens are in good shape. Everything possible must be done for the regular and proper upkeep of existing parks with appropriate flora, fauna, and facilities to benefit all like benches and conveniences for safe rest and recreation
Our gardens and parks are the open air lungs of a neighbourhood. It is really unfortunate to see some of them in a despicable state everywhere in Goa, a glaring example is the old Caranzalem children’s park which was inaugurated some years ago amidst much fanfare. A very useful park used and much appreciated by all is today in a very pathetic state. Other parks in the vicinity are also in a terrible and extremely pitiable condition.
One fails to understand how such marvellous gardens are reduced to be haunted places filled with litter and sick animals. All the talk of infrastructure by the authorities must include maintenance and safety of local gardens and parks, no matter how small or humble they may be.
Neglected parks and gardens are an injustice to young children. It would be ideal if every school had a children’s park for the benefit of students, to boost their health, teamwork, friendship, and interactions with each other besides recreational activities. Above all, restoring and increasing our gardens and parks will help mitigate our ever increasing environmental concerns.
