GOA INDEBTED TO DR JACK DE SEQUEIRA

EVERY year on October 17 we observe Dr Jack de Sequeira’s death anniversary and pay homage to Goa’s first Leader of Opposition. But for his then tireless efforts during the historic Opinion Poll which was held on January 16, 1967 Goa today would have been a mere district if not taluka of Maharashtra.

Dr Jack de Sequeira was the fiery voice of the Opposition and he toiled with vision and passion towards highlighting issues relating to Goa’s development. He was a  spirited leader of integrity, honesty and commitment.

As a school and later college student I had the privilege of interacting with Dr Jack de Sequeira many times and nostalgic are the memories of his debates that I witnessed in the Legislative Assembly. Always well prepared and ever so eloquent. Later after that 1975 State of Emergency I had the occasion of addressing many public meetings along with that great and inspiring leader.

Dr Jack de Sequeira fearlessly dared to speak from his heart and always walked the talk. It is imperative that today students in our schools and colleges are made aware of the very rich and invaluable contribution to Goa by Dr Jack de Sequeira. May his role as a statesman be remembered.

NIGHTMARISH DYSTOPIA!

WE now exist in a nightmarish dystopia where the very air reeks of corruption. The government is not merely filled with murderers and thieves — it’s as if every villain from history’s darkest corners has crawled from the abyss to take up office. Kidnappers and rapists roam the halls of power, exchanging handshakes like twisted high-fives of evil. The gangsters, extortionists, and lynchers have practically set up shop, running the nation like a mob family, while the so-called leaders boast degrees in ignorance, having likely flunked basic humanity 101.

It’s a reign where dishonesty is celebrated with parades, and the uneducated hold symposiums on the “art of incompetence.” If Satan himself applied for a government position, they’d reject him for being too soft. And morality? It’s not merely exiled — it’s been vaporized, sent on a one-way trip to the edge of the universe, never to return. What’s left is a cesspool so deep that even the most debased souls would need a snorkel to survive.

Did I forget anyone? Maybe only the ghosts of past dictators, who are probably watching in awe, taking notes on how to really perfect the craft of oppression.

As more and more of our food becomes toxic and unhealthy due to governments promoting GMO good, biofortified food, chemically grown food, laboratory made artificial meat and protein burgers made from insects that have numerous parasites in them, it becomes vital to grow our own natural/organic food to save our lives.

So now we all need to make our land and soil, no matter how small (even one pot) more useful by growing fruits, vegetables, roots, beans, grains and pulses plants.

In 2019 after my 2nd TEDx talk on – What is food for Human Beings, I started this Organic Vegan Farming group to help people grow food using Natural/Organic methods. You can join this group too. Please note, that this group is only for plant produce and not for animal agriculture or animal products, as explained in my TEDx talk
